DESCRIPTION: 3cm in diameter and up to 3cm high. The turbinate shell consists of up to 6 spires and is variable in colour with ground colour variations between grey, tawny, green and black all frequently seen. A series of purplish to pink wavy lines can be seen covering most of the surface. On the aperture of the shell there is a pronounced tooth and also the underside is pearly white. DISTRIBUTION: Frequent in South-West England and Wales. HABITAT: Found in the mid-shore region of rocky shores. BEST TIME TO SEE: All year round.
